Memorial

The sky runs up as waves

And breaks up on the shore.

There we stand - two angels of the Ark

Who failed to be human more.

Below you lie shattered tablets

Above, fiery letters abound.

The universe itself did shudder

To place me on this ground.

The “Make no idols” prohibition

Was dismissed by beauty’s might,

Made of thin and spotless ether,

Built by purity and light.

Even parallel lines got intersected

In the nature of your soul,

The mute words of fragile silence

Through your eyes were spoken whole

Your soul flows into lampadas

In the evening menorahs light

Starfalls are dropped by darkness,

I’ll collect their frozen light.

Where the sky resembles surf

Angels stand at the waters edge.

They are you and I who morph

For the countless years on the ledge.
